Closed Cell polyurethane foam is among the most efficient insulating materials commercially available.  R Values of closed cell foam can exceed R-6 per inch.  In addition to the excellent insulating properties, closed cell performs as a highly effective air and moisture barrier.  It has a perm rating of approximately 1 at a 2-3 inch application depth.  One additional benefit of closed cell foam is that the rigid nature of closed cell foam has been proven to provide improved structural rigidity to structures.  Although closed cell foam has many positive attributes, it is best applied in wall structures or applications that require the use of a vapor barrier.  Our closed cell foam products include HeatLok Soy 200 from Demilec and FoamLok FL200 from Lapolla.
